Joe and Janice Brumit

Joe and Janice Brumit are the primary contributors to the Joe and Janice Brumit Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Hospitality Management program. Mr. Brumit began working in quick service restaurants in 1968 as a junior in high school and continued throughout college and beyond as he advanced to district manager at Burger Chef before being recruited by Burger King corporation in 1979. In 1998 he became operating partner for 13 Arby’s Restaurants in WNC. He is owner of Brumit Restaurant Group and president of Brumit Development Company. He is also past Board Chair of A-B Tech College Foundation Board of Directors and is currently the Chair of the A-B Tech Board of Trustees. Janice Brumit is also a dedicated civic leader. Her service to the community includes serving as Chair of the UNC-Asheville Board of Trustees. She also continues to work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of children.
