Chef Charles deVries

Charles deVries is the supporter of the Horizon Scholarship. He is a Certified Executive Pastry Chef as well as a Certification Evaluator with the American Culinary Federation. He has over 50 years experience in the hospitality industry, with specialties in chocolate and sugar art. He is now retired from teaching at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College as an instructor in baking and pastry arts. “This scholarship is for someone that has a dream and can look beyond just today, to the “horizon” of a career.”
